Totally. Same same for me. Very annoying and boring things to try play along to.Re metronome. I hate them. It's the TICK.tock.tock.tock. Popular music rarely give more emphasis on the One than the other subdivisions. And drum beats starting on the one are both lower sounding kick drums on 1 and 2 which are either even or softer than the 2 and four beats.
Instead I created some basic midi drum patterns. audio doesn't do well when you change tempo. And with midi you can always change the kit.
I just load up sampled drum loops clips I have info Reaper now , copy and paste out and practice to those. They have a groove and a real kit/ drummer.
Just recorded a track last night with a drum loops and my p90 guitar to test it. I’m quite proud.
Im gonna upload it for opinions re mixing tips and the guitar tones.
