we don't play out, we just get together at my friends place, he has an outbuilding with his drumkit and a backline, we just take the guitars and a bass, and a big bag of weed.
usually, drums, 2 guitars and a bass, with 8-12 of us taking turns in between smokes. it's just for fun, no pressure.
like yourself, many of the group work, or have family commitments, so doing anything serious is out.
